ZAF Trashmap
I was wondering if Timakro (trashmap is his servers right?) had a way of making a trashmap server for zaf we use it alot when playing with parts we make and sometimes its hard doing a part with 240 ping Is this possible?
Or is there some other way of having us host a server that both of us have controll to
PS: Neither of us can host the server ourselves (other list of problems)

Re: ZAF Trashmap
Unfortunately I can't provide trashmap servers in other countries because I only own a server in Germany.
There was the idea of hosting trashmap on the official ddnet servers some time ago but back then we only talked about GER. In my opinion this is a good idea also for the other locations. I don't want to install or maintain the trashmap servers but I would help and answer questions if somebody else wants to do it, source is available here https://github.com/timakro/ddnet-trashmap.
I don't think it is allowed for everyone to upload maps to ddnets open test servers. If I'm wrong you could use those to test your maps, apparently there is one open testing server running on south africa currently.

Re: ZAF Trashmap
The thing is some of the maps we working on we dont want people to really see at first like puzzzle maps and so on so if we upload on test server it adds the map so anyone can vote for it right?Welf wrote:I think we can give the upload Link to 1 or 2 persons

Re: ZAF Trashmap
lol im bad at explaining things so i think well stick with the ger trashmap for the moment thanks
we talk about parts together alot so i make my idea into something then he does "load current map" and he edits it to show his idea and so on we go for a while so with testing servers it might just get overloaded with bits and pieces of parts offline is possible when your just alone but some things is hard testing with dummy lol still thanks for replys

Re: ZAF Trashmap
If you are just 2 persons:
There are other possibilities to connect to a server of a friend. E.g. you could use Hamachi and connect via LAN (I am not an expert, but that should work)

Re: ZAF Trashmap
We have a whole thread for this, viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1764 xd
But you're right this can be said anywhere, thanks for the trashmap servers.
About the actual topic, I'm afraid the only solution right now is the LAN server :/ There are some tutorials on how to set them up, and with just two people you should not experience huge lags. Sry, for this unsatisfiying response :p
