My favorite skin, Logtee, is not in the database anymore. I always use it and now nobody can see it anymore. Can you please put it back in, or is there a particular reason for why it got deleted?

Soreu, Ravie and louis are going through the Skin DB and deleting bad/unteeish skins. I'd guess this fits under unteeish.

I also remember that this skin was rather popular a few years ago.
So it might be a questionable/debatable decision to delete skins from the database based on an unteeish look?

Like I totally understand the reasons to remove some of the client-bundled skins for license reasons and/or unteeish design (even though there were some popular skins removed as well..) and fully support that.
But when the actual goal is to collect and maintain a comprehensive database like https://ddnet.tw/skins , then it might be better to just leave them there and everyone can decide on their own.. :o heinrich5991 doesn't delete bad/bloated maps from his twmap index as well, he just collects without judgement. So maybe that should be the ambition for the skin database as well. Otherwise skins might get lost completely without need.

In a Discord discussion we decided that the DDNet Skin DB is supposed to be a curated list of skins, similar to DDNet released maps. If you want all skins use https://teeskins.de/

We kept the option to use non-fitting skins for use in specific mods by prefixing them with an x_. The server can then decide if client displays the skin or not.

Ok, thanks for the answers. Its a bit disappointing to see that this skin didnt make the cut compared to some others who stayed.
But i get that you want to limit the number of skins.

Personally I'm glad that the SDB is being cleaned up! :p

Ok now literally tiles and spikes are in the database. So i guess that reasoning was complete bullshit.

Note that they were added on April 1.
