Letting the community die like this..
Welcome to the real world of gaming communities: https://www.ranker.com/list/video-games ... ssa-brinks
Most powerfull statement ever and perfectly described the current situation. Thanks. Some trolling back in time was fun, meanwhile it's just annoying and we both know some troll has to write something to that also.
That's exactly what I predicted to happen if you move testing to Discord. I said that the forum will die if you remove Map-Testing and that the Discord channel is too spammy for serious talks.

Agree with this. As hi_leute_gll said, you are describing the admins perfectly. When I was on the discord channel most of the times I only saw non-teeworlds-related shit-talking, especially from moderators. Like 95%+ of the times I was talking about teeworlds related stuff (even in the moment I got banned), because I thought that's what the discord channel is for. Sad to see that jao runs that channel for a different reason, and considers teeworlds related conversations childish and spam. I mean if he wants it to hang out with his friends why doesn't he make an other channel for that? And either let someone else run the one for DDNetwork, which is actually made for game-related content or he runs that one too and treats it properly (the latter probably won't work tho, he already had a chance). Of course he can use the map testing and developer channel as defense, meaning they are highly teeworlds related, but then again, as hi_leute_gll said, moving the map testing is the reason, why the forum is dying. And whenever you go through the forum posts, you can see that the threads are highly game-related, moderated well. It's harder to spam here and if someone tries it's easy to punish him. With changing to discord, jao let the whole thing wander to completely off-topic. I can understand you don't want DDNetwork to be identified with the discord channel. Pathetic how many offensive, completely off-topic things are tolerated there, filled with flaming and insults, but if you ping the @moderator once that they don't deem appropriate usage, you get banned on an instant. Letting players get insulted on so many levels, but if you just say one bad word against a specific moderator, then "rule 11" and you are out. And I am not talking about insulting a moderator, just asking why he did what he did and stating that you don't think that's the right way to manage the situation. On forum? People can read easily everything you wrote, they don't need to scroll back for hours, so as a moderator you have to behave yourself. In the game? There are rules you have to follow as a moderator or you may be removed. On discord? No rules are made and kept well. So people like jao are just enjoying their endless, superior power. Oh wait did I just break rule 11? Who cares, I hope at least some moderators will read it and think about it, before I get banned. How is jao a responsible discord moderator letting all that inappropriate things there, when there are a lot of kids that are playing this game? But complain about the way it is or discuss in-game problems? That is just not allowed! It's time to stop blaming the players, it's not entirely their fault that the discord channel doesn't work properly: it's the moderators' fault. Why? Because they can't manage trolls. There are trolls in almost every big community - it's their duty to take care of them. And they chose to allow non-teeworlds related trolling, which makes the discord channel the way you described (a lot of times it is done by them as well), but teeworlds-related trolls suffer bigger punishment. And let alone me, who just gets abused for fun, but that's an other topic. It's probably the worst combination: abusing ban when it shouldn't be abused and allowing situations, when it should be clearly used.
