New Moderators on DDNet

There were quite a few inconclusive discussions about moderators on DDraceNetwork. So far we had no moderators. Now we have 8 moderators, who mainly play on the GER servers. They are able to force votes and mute players. The new moderators are:
  • aaa
  • BeaR
  • 'qZ |BlaGK|›
  • DoNe
  • ٭ıƞdex'<3
  • Lady Saavik
  • milk
  • Welf
When you feel like you get blocked on DDNet, or someone is treating you badly, don't run to the mods. Try to talk to the "bad guy" and find out what their reasons are. Most problems in life are communication problems. If you get insulting or annyoing messages, you can simply mute the player in your client.

The same is true for the moderators. Be reasonable, don't trust what people say but observe the situation with your own eyes, and judge wisely. We chose moderators we trust, so I am expecting them to hold themselves to high standards.

As always, have fun on DDNet!

Here's the list of commands that work for mods:

Code: Select all

status, force_vote, muteid, muteip, unmute, mutes, unban, bans, kill_pl, vote, set_team

I think it would be enough if moderators could move ppl to spec and to mute them. I'm not sure if they should be able to ban people and force_vote should only be used to prevent map-changes when someone is racing a map for a long time, because you could move the blockers to spec anyway.

Btw. Once, when you muted someone, he could add you as a friend and you still saw his messages, is this fixed?

I am grateful for trust. I spent a lot of time on ddnet servers, sometimes we really need moderator presence or action. These situations are rarer than on other servers, because most people better like play new maps than fight. But sometimes they need help.

Or when 2 persons trying to kick each other for a long time. It's pretty annoying too for most players on the server.
