console command "alias"

Post by pixel »

Would be cool to have an alias command in F1-Console.

I bound almost all my keys.
+ this would be cool for for show mousesens quickly type "m" if you did alias m="inp_mousesense"

I know you can use tap for completion, but I thought it would be a nice idea.

agreed, aliasing commands would be nice, but this is just TW after all, & with clever use of Scripts, like having one bind for a script that rebinds other keys that when executed will binds them selfs all right back, one does not really need it. here is my idea for you to try
Launcher test with scripts.zip
(3.49 KiB) Downloaded 139 times
put the extracted .cfg's in your DDnets data folder
then bind grave "exec launcher.cfg" & press ` in-game(above Tab) to see it. please do tell me what you think, it took hours to make that. just make sure to back up (save a copy) your settings_ddnet.cfg because it will change you settings!

also if you want more "Key's" to bind checkout: viewtopic.php?f=68&t=5956 , it's hacky but cool.

if we had some type of pipe, like > of CMD, or a local console that passes on commands like Rcon, that would be good enough, as we could make configs that contain what we what. if i could code i would totally fork DDnet to my liking, iv'e had so many idea's :)
