I wanted to got some points, so I go to play some solo maps. And the funny or the sad thing is that the half of solo maps don't respect rules. It's sad to have so much bad map, btw goods maps is rejected by DDnet because the design is bad or the game play is too simple..
Okay, I show you a solo map released in DDnet server.

You can show the best part ever ! joke :D , humm.. that part is so bad, 1 hook block is no funny, and that so long and boring

Yes... there are no unfreeze, so nice, the half of the time in the map is to wait, waaaa so funny again :lol:

It's just exemple but a lot map is almost the same, so baadd.
SO PLEASE JUST CHANGE SOMETHING :cry:

Unfortunally we cant change it because it would destroy speedruns.
Only thing would be to add +3 seconds time on the tele and place unfreezes but this wont happen i guess

I didnt speak about that map, it was a exemple to show how bad are some maps.. And i don't understand why ddnet rejected some good map and accepted this type of map :!: :?:

Yes sadly alot of fun maps gets rejected cause of re used parts and ugly design but the fact that 70% of people dont go on forum they cant say they want a map it is fun to run
Being original is cool and all but if the map is just new parts it breaks the flow most of the time

Yes right we can't do nothing but i think, it would be cool if we create a server with all Map testing, some player don't test this type of map because it's boring to search on forum, copy the map to the folder and play it. There are Test server, yes but it's for tester, if we create 1 server for all players, maybe the map with new gameplay and bad design 'll be have more chance :)

Well, obviously this map you gave as an example has one of the most frustrating parts when you compare it to the rest of the map, but it's also kinda old.
Sure there are some "bad" maps on DDNET, but you don't have to play them, and having more maps rejected would be bad imo, because you wouldn't have new maps to play.
Yeah, maps get rejected when they've got bad design or too simple gameplay, but you know what you could do? Become a tester.
But I have to say: I don't really care about fancydesign, because i play with entities, but sometimes people even fail at making a good simple design. Simple gameplay is nothing I would reject a map for, because why not having good parts in more maps. You should jsut not steal everything, just create parts that come into your mind and don't copy them. There are standard parts that are in many maps, just slightly differen. Doesn't hurt. Often "creative new parts" end up being complicated, or you can cheat them, so it's difficult.
But there are mappers, that are able to create new really good maps, we just need more of those.

DDNET is not broken...

RayB, right but it's the tester who take map to the server, if there are a new map without tester players can't test it on the server, maybe make a systeme, all map in the section Map testing is upload in the server :D
