Perfect, I like this. I made a topic about if some days ago: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=4713

Also a very good thing, discussed a bit here: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=4756 (internal thread)

Maybe another internal thread called "The Council" could be created? This way moderator could ask for The Council for guidance. The Council could also make a sticky topic with guidelines on how a moderator should behave.

Will there be any written process on when/how a Trial in-game moderator will/can be promoted to moderator?

I don't think the template is the bad one. I think the applicants are the bad ones because they don't read the application process rules. Plus, you see a lot of teenagers applying (they disclose their age), in which they wouldn't really have many skills to write about. In actuality, these kind of applications should just stop.
When I joined, I believe I spoke with Soreu in private about it.
To me, this and previous mod + admin appointments seem like they are just through being friends. While I don't have a problem with that, I feel like this is one of the biggest limiting factors. I remember at least a couple of times where applications were rejected because of the reason, whether the reason is the main one or a secondary, that admins + mods simply don't know the applicant.

Maybe for the new application template, instead of focusing on what the applicants should write about, I think a broader approach to the applications should be prioritized instead. I guess it's also difficult to get good applicants though. Maybe the template should sound more appealing to the ones that should or are fitting to become applicants.

Gdin, this is a very good idea, im totally in favor about this, it seems very interesting, and would be much more organized, less discussions, less fights, rage, flaming, im really totally in favor! I hope this can go on. Gdin, not every decision must fall in you, people for no reason can hate you, i loved the "council" thing! <3
Maybe we need just time to think..

How is this "council" doing? Is it already a thing? Or not?
Only thing I can see is jao acting like he is an admin, while aaa can't tell me anything about it.

It consists of RayB, jao, Hidden-Ezio, aaa, and I, and it's been working well so far. Will make an official post about it & updated application template when I get some time.

Well...almost a month gone. Still no post about the new council. Also members of the council act very imature in this forum and disqualify theirself, so that I highly doubt they are able to judge other Mods. But sure.. "it's been working well so far"...

I agree. I was skeptical of the picks back then but didn't say anything because I wanted to give them a chance and I personally like some of them as players, but I don't see them fit as moderators. It's "almost a month gone" (or only a month) and already running into problems (three or four?), the biggest one being the latest rcon password leak. I think it should have been more gradual, much slower process.

its very likely that the password leak would have happened anyway.. the council thing doesn't fundamentally change how it works, it's just that instead of 1 head deciding about mods we have 5 and can discuss more about it

Pathos are you saying that the council was a reason for the pw leak? That doesn't make any sense at all.
