New entity suggestion: dummy creating

New entity suggestion: dummy creating

Hi.
I don't think that i'm first who asking about this, but it's possible to make new entities for creating dummy in deep(not player) or something with same physics? It's like Companion Cube in Portal created when u press button.

I guess it would be usefull for all difficult, especially for brutal maps.

I imagine a tons of new parts and it's made possible create Dummy drag with real teamwork, and not time wasting part for one who in frezee.

And ofc u can make Triple hookfly :D

Yes u can make this like in Just Triple Fly by Spyker but it's very hard to mapper make whole map with dummy and it's too boring every time create team with 1 dummy and make sure that u have strong.

I understand that mb it's impossible to implement but who knows^^

Brilliant idea.

I will return in tw from Quake3 Defrag World competition if this feature happens :shock: .

i can only imagine this working in maps with forced teams. and even then..

I guess it may be useful, but we shall not forget that a lot of hard parts are intentionally created in a way, which forces one player to became a dummy and then help others when finally got unfreezed - that way the teamwork is unavoidable and one can't just leave a frozen tee behind.
If we can use the artificial dummy without overusing it, we should be ok.

But then comes another problem - what about the slots limit (especially in the vanilla client)? I guess that DDRace don't have server-side dummies, like iDDRace does, for some reason. I don't know the DDRace history perfectly though, but I assume it was a counscious decision of somebody, so we should take it into consideration. It's also worth mentioning that on iDDRace you can easily cheat with a dummy, so we should also take care to avoid it.

But as I said - I think new features are good for DDRace, because they make overall experience richer, so we should analyze if it's possible and whether it causes any of the troubles I mentioned.
