Problems logging into rcon

Post by Teegies »

Hello,
I own a DDNet server and everything works fine except for the remote console. I have set a admin password in the autoexec.cfg. When I join my server, press F2, it asks for a username. I type in my username and it asks for a password. Then, I type in the password I set early and it responds with "Wrong password 1/30". Can somebody help me? I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Yes, I am a newb.
Thanks! :D

You should probably leave the username empty and just enter the rcon password. The nickname is not equal to the username in rcon :p
So, it's - Enter Username:<ENTER>, Enter Password:<PW><ENTER> in your case :)

Unless you explicitly set up a system where you have account-based authification for admins and moderators. But I don't think that's the case :o

Hmm.. That didn't work for me. I'm still getting the same problem. But, you were correct that I didn't setup a username system. ;) . Thanks for the help though! If you have any other tips, please reply. Thanks :D

edit: Ahhhh. I see. I had a simple problem in my autoexec.cfg. I was missing a quotation mark! But, thank you so much for helping!!
[mod=Index]Glad, you solved the problem :3[/mod]

In the future read the eror messages on the console, they should tell you about something like that.
