That bug has already been fixed in the development version, it just needs a release.

Just an example, I know that there are more possibilities with other sequences of abusing this, name faking etc.

because you say name faking. there is some Unicode char which looks like space (I know it from mac) but isn't. if you are on Mac, you could do it through Alt space (or ctrl space, don't know exactly)
