The maps which came out of my private testing were tested by multiple tees and were all better than the **** you can find under your mapper profile.
Pharice only good map be thankful for it shout out tobu.
90% of the maps last year were tested by me also so no wonder that Ive tested my maps too. Im even happy that I found 1-2 people to test with me lol.
And Im pretty sure you are just salty because a noname with 0 mapping skills like me became a trustable staff member with pretty good mapping skills :/. (The mapping stuff is a personal thing between me and him. He didnt believe I would ever make a good map and insulted me as mapper who just wanted to get his map releeased while he was the testing admin)
And you can cut the "several" from the mod abuse thing. Ive kicked (no ban) a 1/2 afk team ( of a friend from which I knew he wouldnt come back) to change the map while all server were full. The votesystem sucked like my behavior in this situation and I even retired of beeing a moderator because of myself because I knew I wouldnt fit into this role back then.

But Imo its still more reasonable than banning people from the forum because they shared their opinions about you.

There were Testing Leaders which were admins too. So why does my experience not allow me to take over this spot for example ?

RayB i think you misunderstand the meaning of beeing admin of ddnet
what do you want to do as "admin"?
actually admins are doing coding stuff and do some important decisions about coding. if you really want to work with the players of ddnet, be a tester or a moderator, then you can influence people and help as much as possible.
you might be "map testing admin", but that is just a title, that wouldn't change anything, so giving you that would be useless. if you were map testing admin you could act like "i am admin, i do all decisions about releases" and that would be wrong.
I don't see any usefull way/reason, how/why you could be an admin of ddnet.

There are other things which are important. I have a big network in Teeworlds, had iMTG active back then which was already about to release 90% of all good maps on DDNet and KoG. So I knew the most important mappers, I had connections to other servers (and mods), all important people on DDNet, guys like Hallowed.

deen made a deadline, so quick reactions were needed. I used my network to build up a team which would allow me to take over DDNet. Not as my person, but as a team. This was the point which convinced deen. If it would be just about me personally, he would never give me the access.

And this mix of doing the first step when it was needed the most and my network which allowed me to contact and convince the certain people was my qualification to become admin and also kinda the head of admins.

The activity just shows that you are active. That's all. It's quite a long time so it is a positive aspect. But solely it says nothing.

The way DDNet has been maintained back then showed clearly that it isn't that easy to become admin. Half of the team I built up already left in the first half a year.
Well...you could say it was my failure then to recrute these people and you would be right in that point, even though I couldn't do anything about certain people, cause I needed them to convince deen.

The position as admin gives you great responsibilitys. You are responsible for a few thousand people having fun on the servers, taking care of daily buisness as well as trying to develop the server on long-term. This only works if you have enough motivated people - as it as been when DDNet was founded. And you also need the trust of the community. Since a part of the community + (later) deen didn't trust us enough and tried to work against us, all team members lost their motivation very quickly. east, DoNe, Knight and me left in the first half year. .me' dissapeared (as I expected him to do so), and Soreu + aaa just stayed to make sure Aoe or another idiot won't become admin (and cause some personal reasons of Soreu's, but they aren't for the public). HMH seems to have kind of left later, too.

So as you see: It is not a simple task to be admin. There is much trouble you have to deal with. And even though I can't really say if you are qualified or not, since you don't give us a real argument about that, I don't think that the fact you being admin would really change something on DDNet. It would just go on as it already is with you being the "testing leader" - which you already are.

So let me use the hype over the topic for better reason than useless discussion. Altough Im more than just rdy and still waiting for someone to do this.

Well my problems with ddnet arent much testing related anyway. So let me show me new points which I want to present:

- bring more information to the player
Not even player knew that the ger server got renewed and stopped playing/mapping. Imo unacceptable.

- take part of the decision who gets moderator. The plan didnt work out well gll I see this idiot still as moderator.
(still waiting for my answer gdin somehow you force me to go public with it just to become a stupid normal response+solution)

My knowledge here :
I know every player on GER server. I know how they would act and could better value if they are right for the job than gdin who just hired his clan from which are all more than inactive or doing nothing mod related.
Imo a vote with selected players would be better and removing selected moderator.

- New Mapper Rules and Testing rules. You can post too much maps and the quality of maps which we like to play increased much. So I also want to create new rules.

Seems not to be the case but well Its nice and great that you kept ddnet alive with calling some guys together who were particular already admins but I think I extended my list how I could help in the previous post with solving some problems. Nothing more to offer or anything to say unless delete the off topic.
