Application as technical helper
Hello guys!
I am working as a software developer and therefore have experience with a lot of web stuff like JavaScript, HTML, PHP, CSS. As I am working a lot with unix, I also know a few things about it and could possibly help maintain the servers. I prefer personal introductions, hence I offer myself to an interview - I prefer voice chat since it is clearer and faster in general and also a lot more personal (which is important if you plan on working with people over a longer period of time). Just PM and I'll send you my contact data for Skype or join a given TS or maybe even something different.
When the end of ddnet seemed to be upon us, I took a look at the scripts repo and I got a few ideas for the server management and the website. To name just two: 1. Use a process manager for the teeworlds server instances. This can be configured in a way so that you only need to run the process manager with one config file to start all the things you need on a server - ddrace, zcatch, ictf etc. I know there is a bash script to start all the ddrace server instances, but why only them if you can get all teeworlds mods + monitoring for free (process manager normally support some tools or output for monitoring)
2. As the website is mostly static html which is created by a lot of different scripts and a php-forum, maybe it is time to migrate to a real CMS. This would make a lot of things easier for the non-technical ddnet staff. You could give them easy access to writing news, editing the text on all pages to correct typos or just take out old things. And you also could use the permission system given by the CMS to set up protected pages for moderative staff like managing tournaments and releasing maps (of course. this one needs a lot more than just the CMS in the background
).

Server and website maintenance. But I'm open for a lot of stuff.

JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, Java, Bash, Python, but I'm open for learning anytime
Time provided
At least 1 hour a day (working full time takes its toll), more on the weekends (as much as I can spend without getting killed by my gf)
