So a few weeks ago *~Rôny~* reminded me of this grenade-"feature" fikmesan has shown in one of his videos over a year ago and we thought about making it useful in race. It seems like the boost of a grenade is twice as strong as it normally would be when the time limit/max distance of a flying grenade has been reached (very) close to the ground.

I feel like a lot of viewers (me included) thought this was useless, but actually it is not. I have tested it and easily done some crazy times with it on run_ankii for example and it is really controllable. It works on every DDNet server and every server that is based on DDNet, for example the Unique Race servers. Especially those are affected by this because grenades do not disappear after death there, which gives you far more possibilities and maps where this can be used. Me and some other racers see this as a bug/problem that needs to be fixed asap because this does not exist in vanilla teeworlds and top ranks on race maps could be beaten without anyone knowing if the bug was used or not. I have written heinrich5991 about this about a month ago and asked gdin to contact another admin 11 days ago, but did not see any reaction so far, so I feel like posting it here.

Based on what i see on the video, it's not a bug it's a feature. You get more power because you are closer to explosion location.

It makes sense that the rocket would throw you higher when its just about to explode, because you would already be going up with some speed so the second rocket would essentially be more useful because its boosting an already boosted jump. I dont see any bug or whatever though, so maybe i am missing something.

No you are not necessarily closer to the location of the explosion. And even if, then why does this not work on vanilla servers?

This theory makes no sense because you do not even have to move up before the grenade hits. You can just stand still and the boost of the grenade is still twice as strong. Same question here: If it makes sense to you, then why does it not work on vanilla servers?

I don't think DDNet has a different physics for grenade than Vanilla, but maybe i'm wrong.

My bad, i see the issue now. Thanks.

Regarding my first statement, thats just how i understood the double or tripple rocket jump. I always try jump a split second before the nade hits the floor.

I think the devs are buisy, don't expect too much.
I think it is weird to fix afterwards since maybe there are ddnet ranks made with it (and we don't know wich ranks were caused by this bug)
