I have a MacBook Pro, would be easy if you had the same system.

For other people who may have this problem too. I've found the solution.
Primary problem: I can only fit the game on my 1920x1080 screen when I have the setting 1600x900 on, using Windows 8.1. This caused lower resolution, slowness when switching to another program and small issues.
Secondairy problem: DDNet.exe has to be opened twice before you can play. The first time the mouse doesn't work, thus you have to (forcefully) terminate the program. The second time DDNet.exe works.
Solution: Right-click on DDNet.exe and go to properties. Go to the 'Compatibility' tab and 'Disable display scaling on high DPI' (probably the third checkbox from below).
