(Solved) Client not starting (Unbuntu x64 + DDNet x32)
(Solved) Client not starting (Unbuntu x64 + DDNet x32)
When I try to run the program, nothing happens, no error text, nothing. I am new to linux, and have never seen this problem on windows in almost a year of playing on ddnet. I just extracted the whole file from the tar.gz, and tried to run "DDnet".

Re: Client not starting (unbuntu, 64 bit and 32 bit versions of the client)
open a terminal in the same directory your client is located and run the client using
Not knowing anything I guess libsdl is missing. Install it using
If that does not help run
./DDNet
. Post the output here. Not knowing anything I guess libsdl is missing. Install it using
sudo apt-get install libsdl-dev
If that does not help run
sudo apt-get build-dep teeworlds

Re: Client not starting (unbuntu, 64 bit and 32 bit versions of the client)
well you can open a terminal using ctrl + alt + t. Now you can navigate to your ddnet-client directory using cd. For example if your client is located in Downloads/DDNet-Client just use
Or you you can use right click in your filemanager after installing nautilus-open-terminal using
EDIT: why did you delete your post?
cd Downloads/DDNet-Client
. Now you can run the client as written above.Or you you can use right click in your filemanager after installing nautilus-open-terminal using
sudo apt-get install nautilus-open-terminal
in a terminal. I never knew why this is not installed by default :D EDIT: why did you delete your post?

Re: Client not starting (unbuntu, 64 bit and 32 bit versions of the client)
the output for trying to run the client from the directory
I did install nautilus-open-terminal right after I mentioned that after a quick google search.
/Downloads/DDnet-9.2-linux_x86
is bash: ./DDnet: no such file or directory.
Same output for just /DDnet
. I did both of these before, and after installing libsdl, which was missing. Even after, it was the same result.I did install nautilus-open-terminal right after I mentioned that after a quick google search.

./DDNet
Better use tab to autocomplete. So just type ./DD and tab
