I don't think the maintainer of the DDnet cliënt 4.2 Android is going to develop this Android game further, but if hè does develop it further, I would like to give some tips to make Teeworlds playable on a tablet.

- Make arrow Keys instead of a circle at the left bottom on the screen: left, right and jump as the up-arrow.
- Remain the aiming (when moving your indexfinger on the screen).
- Create a 150 pixel horizontal line (when screen is 1920x1080) at the top of the screen. When you press that line with e.g. your ringfinger, you'll shoot (or hammer) to the place you aim to.
- Create a 150 pixel horizontal line (when screen is 1920x1080) at the bottom of the screen. When you press that line with e.g. your thumb, you'll hook to the place you aim to.

Also there are tons of bugs in this Android version of DDnet, but I'm sure you're aware of that and I really hope you're going to continue developing this Android game.

The only reason to have this installed is to spectate other players racing, but actually this doesn't really work for me

I think no matter what I do DDNet will never be really playable on a tablet. I was just asked to make the client so people can spectate all 64 players on DDNet servers. On the right side there are 2 keys to switch between the players you're spectating.

Hm... Too bad you don't want to develop the DDNet client on android a little more.

I don't even have an Android device. You could forward these ideas to Pelya, who the Android Teeworlds client is originally from. I just adopted his port to DDNet.
