Ok, I added this proposal as a potential option for the development plan.
Here is a very short description: if player fails he can press /r to rescue.
In this case player will automatically goes to solo mod and at the end will get only 1 Season point for finishing the map. No map race record will be applied.

Does it solve the issue?

p.s. I opened this topic to gather players feedback and to collect the ideas about new modifications. Soon when I collect enough proposals I'll open a vote, so people will choose what will be the next development project.

Well I would like to have hard maps with /r AND keep the rank. I don't care about points tho. Maybe do multiple top 5's one with, and one without/r.

or just add a time penalty to /r. i.e 30 seconds per /r; that way you don't have to separate the ranks and /r players can compare themselves to the pros
or dont unfreeze instantly while using it, leave the tee frozen for something like 5 seconds

Nah, regular player would complain, easy server with /r for beginner should be enough i think.

I like the idea with no rank more, if you want a rank you need to play, gores is a teamplay "mod"

This is interesting, because my very first map Q-Aip-Gores is almost the same as an old Aip-Gores map. If you are able to play Aip-Gores, there should be no problems with this one.

Today I discussed this topic with our team. We came to a conclusion that we need to create several very easy maps.
These maps should be easier then the existing ones and even easier then normal Aip-Gores. We will release them and sort by difficulty. So unskilled players should be able to practice and skill-up there. If it doesn't solve the issue, we plan to get back to the /r topic.

p.s. We will also add normal Aip-Gores map

First of all, I really like that you want to add and change modifications to the kog servers :3
There were already good suggestions and I especially like the idea with more beginner-friendly maps, so here are just a few additional lines:

The idea with /r-enabled servers certainly is controversial and might have disadvantages. I remember the chaos with /r on other servers many years ago. It basically destroys the feeling of ddrace, everyone is just spamming the command not paying attention to the others etc. Of course tha'ts the drastical situation and might not be the reality but I don't really know if it should be added.

Maybe it's good with some restrictions (few already suggested here).
I think about only enabling it within /team and then it adds ~15 sec each time you use the command. With that you can still get ranked times but it should not affect the real pros. Unfortuantely it might still have an influence on really hard maps, so that's not really a good option either..

So yeah, its hard to find a balance between newer players and the establsihed payer base.
Let's see if the beginner server is successful. There is a thread on the qshar forums for creating / collecting maps for the new server category, didn't saw it mentioned here. So forgive me, if you already linked it, qshar (http://qshar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3024#p3024) .___.

2. Map Quests - Develop more map quests and apply them on existing maps.

Quests examples: Don't use hammer during race; Don't get freezed more then once in a minute; Finish the map without guns; Touch Heart / Shield that are in some location that is hard to catch; Finish map in big team etc.

3. Killban system - System that will disallow kick and ban votes on some |*KoG*| servers.
More info: Replace ban vote with killban system. It means that the player doesn't get banned or kicked. He can continue to play, but during next 15 minutes he can't kill/re-spawn/re-enter the game and can't vote. This was made to avoid fun-votes and to punish blockers. As an additional option the player was also muted for 15 minutes.

4. Block-Race - New idea in Block-Race direction

Players are racing a very easy Gores map, the first one who finishes it will win. During the map there will be many block spots, so in every moment player can press hotkey and he will be teleported to the block position. Each block position will have its special weapons: Rocket will switch the players, normal gun will push victims away, one more rocket will freeze for 1 second, laser will slow down player's speed etc.

5. Interactive map - Develop Client with hook prediction to avoid small lag in Interactive map mod.

7. 1 vs 1 Gores Tournaments - Re-develop 1 vs 1 tournaments as we used to have in 2014. Make them automatic and weekly.

Two player are racing the same easy gores part. The first one who crosses the finish will win round 1. In round 2 losing player will play on the same part and winning player will race a bit harder one. If player won round 2, he won the competition. This modification requires both: speed and careful race. Each player decides himself if he wants to risk and go faster. Up to 64 players will participate in tournaments, first 3 places get reward. It is also possible to add some special weapons to make more fun.

8. Gores for unskilled players - Create several very easy maps.

9. Daily Events - Implement new features to the Daiily Events.

Everyday at 19:00 There is a Daily Event. During the race players can't re-spawn, so they have only 1 chance to finish the map. We can add some features to make daily events more fun and unpredictable, such as freezing every minute, auto-rescue when the half time will pass, getting helpful weapons at a specific time of the race etc.

10. Team challenges - Team challenges by keks.
