Accounts on DDNet?

Request help for teeworlds-related subjects (mapping, servers, ..).

Accounts on DDNet?

So for a while now I've had the idea of accounts on DDNet.

Benefits with accounts would be:
  • Nobody can fake. (name & clan)
    Nobody can load saves in your name.
    If only the people with an account is allowed to vote, it would solve all the votebots & make it easier to ban the votebot accounts.
    No more rcon password leaks. (insted its account based.)
People should still be able to play on DDNet without accounts obviously !. But this would really help out on the current issues we're dealing with at the moment.

Only problem is, I dont know anyone who could do this.

Maybe you should learn to write "Example" first :P

edit: The problem is that we (ddnet) don't want such a thing.
Actually it would be better to log in before playing, so you can make a bind that logs you in automatically

I can smell "Someone" who will create accounts for every Name before the real player can do it, seems to be funny
No accounts please, and for real i cant see a good thing when you cant change positions in team with save/load
Bad idea, and i think the most people dont like it

Pressing a bind every time you join a new server is kinda annoying. There used to be servers with such account feature, but I never really liked it, and its 2017 now, why use so old technique? Allmost every game has an account system :)

Ye true, It is going to be a big problem making sure everyone gets their original nickname & points.
- I dont think it was intended that you should be able to change strong & weak and change positions in team. But if it was intended accounts would ruin that yeah.

In the start of ddrace was /spec possible, on ddnet is it not and there are still exist parts which are impossible with weak on maps in which spec isnt allowed
Anyways i dont like the idea of accounts. An account system isnt very effective

it was suggested multiple times, but noone realized it exclude of block bots, mb try to ask cheat writers ? :D They did it very well
Also accounts can prevent fake finishes, like yota did for you on solo.

besides actually coding it, this clearly is the main problem
if we implemented accounts we would probably have to reset everything? else we can't ensure that every single player gets the account bound to his actual name/points and there would obviously be some robbery happening

the weak/positions change is kinda hacky and removing that shouldnt be a problem, if it makes finishing some maps impossible then we should rather add /spec to these maps lol

Only safe way would be to manually add each account for each player, and that would take ages. If there was a small, efficient team to manage this then it could be possible, but still seems very unrealistic.

Could also generate accounts for every forum & in-game name that match, which aren't activated until the player first logs in with details sent in an automated pm.
