I remember in past on some servers there was such thing as /helper command and when u wrote it helper teleported to u and helped. So maybe possible solution could be removing voteban system and adding /moderator command to msg every moderator to come and ban insulting troll or blocker.

Lovely times of +DDRace, for example, but I guess it was used also in other mods

It is impossible to track down IP's in the DDNet Client right?

In InfClass, I've disabled banvote. It's still better than being disturbed with funvote all the time. However, it's true that some players can block without facing any consequences. I think a solution could consist to replace banvote by a ban request system. If a player start a banvote, the server count this as ban request (but no vote start). If the server receive 3 requests, a banvote start like usual.

You can only request on IP's, people can change their names easily if they understand the system. I was thinking about this too, but it needs to be based on IP's

They can either easily change their IPs though...

I don't think people are so desperate for blocking on the DDNet server that they will change their IP. Maybe they will change it so that they can play on the servers again but I doubt there will be many continuing with blocking people after getting banned the first time.

Also there's probably a small amount of people who do know how to change their IP easily, the rest may be able to change thier IP but if they are desperate enough to do it, that is the question.

The little group of blockers who will do anything to stay blocking can't be stopped anyway.

No, ita a very good idea. Right now you dont even need to change your ip to call a vote, so your argument is senseless. It would make the funvoting situation better. Still the amount of ban requests cant be a fixed number and should depend on the amount of players in the server.

And this would not lead to a solution for the full-server-block-problem timakro mentioned. Here you can start with limiting the vote participants to a number like 16. So just the first 16 votes would count in this example. Dunno, hi_leute had arguments against it, but you can try first if it solves the problem. If not revert it.
