Slow laggy game on Windows 10

My friend quit Teeworlds recently because his client became slow and laggy around a month ago. The problem is basically this:
[9:45 PM] Bawki: other tees but mine lag
[9:45 PM] Bawki: like they teleport like hell
[9:45 PM] Bawki: and my emotes are slow as hell
[9:45 PM] Bawki: like they dont come out smoothly
[9:45 PM] Bawki: they come out choppy


Things we have tried:

• Using old versions of DDNet
• Factory resetting the computer
• Other stuff that factory resetting the computer would've fixed (e.g. deleting configs)

On LAN, antiping off. Emotes and other players are less laggy than they are on other servers, but still aren't as smooth as they used to be.

Disable software firewall. Use LAN instead of Wifi.

i had that kinda familiar problem too. But after optimizing my wireless internet connection, it works better nowadays. I have win10 too and only on win10 happent insane ping lags.
