(Maybe) a solution to lags on linux

I used to have nice smooth graphics on DDNet until I changed my OS from Linux Mint 16 to Linux Mint 17 (cinnamon). For a while, my frames would be really crappy unless I disabled vsync, but doing that caused the screen to tear and blink.
So I played around with some of the settings, disabling animations and windows snapping, but I the one thing that really fixed the issue was this:

Hopefully there are equivalents of this setting with other desktop environments. Anyway, I hope this helps.
