losing autorecorder demos

How many epic demos i've lost because it can't save them.

Yeah, is it possible to make that best demo of each map is overwriting with auto recorded before demo? Or something, i don't know. It shows that it is recording, but it isn't saving at the end.. if you had demo on this map before. kinda sucks :C

Normally it always overwrites the old version if the time is better, but not sure since there are 3 different recorders.

Can you be more specific and say how to reproduce the issue? "It is shit" doesn't really help anyone in finding out what's not working.

Sounds like you just misunderstand how the multiple DDNet recorders work. We have 3 recorders:

1. Manual recorder. Start by pressing Esc -> Record demo, stop the same way. Gets saved in demos/demo_date.demo
2. Race recorder. Enable in Settings -> DDNet -> Save the best demo of each race. Does exactly that on any race-like server (Race, DDRace, DDNet, ...). Starts at the start line. Only saves the best demo in demos/Map_time.demo, removes the demo if you didn't get a new record.
3. Auto recorder. Enable in Settings -> Game -> Automatically record demos. Records and saves everything you ever do on a TW server. Gets saved in demos/auto/autorecord_date.demo

For example Sacred Source map. If i would finish this now demo won't be saved. But If i pass through startline and disconnect then it would save as next Sacred Source_tnp_
Looks like it saves only finish of the first run ever. But the funniest thing is that it works randomly sometimes...

But when i get new record it also removes demo and more, deletes the previously one... sometimes...
Only my client is so bugged?

The tmp files are temporary and not meant to be used.

I have encountered it several times that the Race recorder just won't start if i cross the start line. I had to restart client to fix it. I'm not sure what causes it, but map/server changes might influence it.
