Mapres not showing

OK ive tried several different things now and when i try to put a image of my name into my map it doesnt show the image when im in the editor
why is that??

but it only shows up in the editor when i make it look like this


Only when i have this "gradientToOrange" effect on it allows me to see it
With the logo of the map its fine cause thats how i want it but i Need a plain black name

The black one isn't saved as RGB-pic, but as greyscale. I transformed it, have fun.

how did you transform it? cause thats not the only one im using thats just the first one i put in i got 2 more can i do it with gimp or something?

In GIMP click on Image -> Mode -> RGB.
