@jao: relax bud, your map is decent and fits @ the contest imo. Just because you didn't put some cherry blossom trees in there doesn't mean it isn't asia at all. Actually I think they would look out of place since you've choosen a cavern-like layout so the statues are perfectly fine. All I was saying was that compared to the other entries yours looks the least asian but If I'd seen your map without any context I'd say it is asian/chinese for sure (the statues are a dead giveaway).
I mentioned it before but this is why there should be a template next time; you can't really compare a "overworld" map (eg. Ravie) to a cavern/tunnel map (eg. jao) when each map is well executed on it's own.

And @Ninjed why be so emotioanlly invested in a tournament you didn't even take part in lol
