Thanks to Jupeyy's OpenGL3 pull request we should have better performance when zooming out now. Please try the new client (and server) release on the available platforms and report your results here:
Once we get good feedback from all platforms I will release the version officially.

On Linux I have problems with libGLEW being different versions already...

Update: New version with included libGLEW.

Try opening a huge map and zooming out very far. Also, anyone having lower/higher fps?

how can i show fps on zoom out correct? I tried with current ddnet main release client and i zoomed out very far and i can clearly see that the sun envelopes have less than one fps but it says i am still having 200 fps lol.

Gaming Desktop
I used ddnet10 client on my windows10 machine in 4k resolution on a 3100x1700 tiles (with 16 layers) map.
I zoomed 36 times out and it feelt like 0.000001 fps but it still showed a lot more lol.

The ddnet11 client doesn't work at all on my win10 machine. The menu is zoomed in in the left corner and i have no idea how to see the whole game.

Apple Laptop
But on my macbookPro with macOS Sierra 10.12.6 DDNet11 works GREAT! I can finally press escape without getting 2 blackscreens.
Same map same spot i get with 20 times zoom out on the old client 30 fps and with ddnet11 i get 35 fps. But the best thing is the fixed blackscreens!

Old Apple Laptop
no support for Mac OS X 10.6.8 -.-

Apple Desktop
iMac 4k from end 2015 (OS X El Capitan 10.11.6) had no blackscreen problems with ddnet10 and i found no problems with ddnet11.
Also fps seem to be EXACT the same.

Razer Stealth (little laptop no graphics card and stuff)
Tested it on other win10 64 bit machine also in 4k resolution. I still get a zoomed in client but atleast it is zoomed in in the middle. So i can play the game a lot better but i still can't work with the menue because it is out of the border.

Apparently you have to enable opengl3 in graphics settings and restart client first.

cl_showfps 2 in f1 shows current fps.

lel cl_showfps 2 xd why doesnt cl_showfps 1 work? And what is cl_showfps 1 for?

btw im having trouble to start ddnet11 on my lenovo laptop (Linux Lebuntu 4.8.0-36-generic #36~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Sun Feb 5 09:39:57 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux) i did it the same way i start my ddnet9 client normally on the machine.

means it shows the FPS of the current frame.

cl_showfps 1
is meant to show the average FPS and is the vanilla display for FPS. You can also enable the DEBUG Hud to see the current FPS

I see, the nightly build doesn't contain the shader directory.
