- 99% of people finished less than 20% of maps or so. Basically no new maps needed.
- ddnet has plenty of features so I don't need more of them, quite the opposite. Too many features just get annoying.
- not sure what others think but idc about events and if people want them they can make private ones.

cause then i would have wasted it.. - If you consider donating for 2013/2014 as wasting money too then you are right.

People only give money when see that something have future.

Edit: And right now, making this messages doesn't make it look like it have, even more making a tournament that seems announcing the end of ddnet.

Who knows if ddnet wont be shutdown after the tournament?

I think I was one of the first ddnet players, for some reasons in the past:
1) Better ping than ddmax
2) Community of pros that helped me in mapping, playing and making new friends in particular Wudl and .me' wich is now onliony me.
3) An active admin that listen you, even if I was the last player he should hear with my stupid ideas... But I was very happy to be a part of new big project like ddnet!
4) very nice server management.
5) Friendly community
6) INTERNATIONAL ranks
7) Tournaments
8) New maps everyday, at start all maps has got quality.
9) Better and easyer map testing.
10) A lot of useful things like: 100% movement when I hit you in freeze, showhook... Etc..

NOW
1) my ping is good everywhere (well not in this days, because I'm not at home, but usually it is)
2) The only things I hear In map testing is: Archive! Bad map! Full of stupid parts! (wudl told me that too, but he helped me with my 1st map, big sun.)
3)I asked to became moderator, not for fame or shit like this, because I alrady have yt channel for that... But because ddnet is fking bad at the moment and I tryed to help... Because admins never play and the moderators are never online. But didn't receive an answer that the main reason of my admins hate.
4) without moderators server sucks, every second map change, kicks insults... Today servers are on, tomorrow servers off. Connection problems, ddos...
5) Well as far as I know it isnt anymore friendly, l just watch topics when people ask to became moderators.
6) now Chile down, ger 2 down... Don't need to say anything.
7) it is months I don'tsee a tournament, just say: if we reach 50€ in donations we ll do tournaments... That's it.
8).... Don't need to say anything
9) ahahahahahaha hi_leute_gll <3, just to remember... At start of ddnet map get released after 2-3 days you SAY IN GAME: I think my map ready, cfast test with Ante, wudl, or other ex tester... And ez release.
10) Well I think ddnet client now is good enough, if we add more it ll look like a BOT client.

FINALLY: I think ddnet was the best part of Teeworlds ddrace since 5 years, but everything has an end. Or it return to old gold times or it is time to close it like encore, procodex, ddmax.

(ps: milk is going to cry after all hours in ranks :P)

"The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder."
Pink Floyd - High Hopes

Community grows bigger, you cannot blame it for being "unfriedly". The bigger community is - the less it cares about individuals. You cannot change that. Although you can (and as for Administration - it should) somehow encourage community for bonding and becoming more friendly, but in the end it still won't care of individual players.

As for moderators being rarely online in game. I am sorry, but do you actually join teeworlds and look for moderators online to play under their protection? I bet you don't. Also, don't forget about timezones and most importantly: we are people too, we got our own problems, our own obligations. And you know, once in a while, we all need to rest. You might think being a moderator is easy, I assure you it is not, with each day it becomes more and more exausting to take care of you. I personally know people who were moderators and after awhile left their position without actually stopping to play the game - they got tired of this yelling kindergarten.

About your application, I applied a week earlier than you, Spyker, and as you can see I got to be a forum moderator. If you really want to help DDnet going - put more effort. And please, don't forget, it is always a hard decision to put someone in charge. It always takes time.

As for maps releases and testing process. I'd say, it needs more polishing and better scheduling and organistation. Also, there is no need in excessive amount of maps. You, Spyker, finished 373 maps out of total amount of 1382 maps. 1009 is a HUGE amount of maps, it will take you a lot of time to finish these.

And finally tournaments. Yes, I agree, there were no tournaments, during this period of time. As for now, I can't see someone who is obligated to work on it. But hey! Come on, community! You want to be involved in everything on DDnet so desperatly - why don't you actually help? Why don't you come to Team leaders and say: "Hey, we didn't have a tournament for awhile now, I have a good idea and I already know what map would fit!". I assure you, Staff will consider it. Yes, tournament won't happen maybe in the same week or so, but it definitly will.

People you want to be involved in this project and you think that The Team™ owes you everything, but you don't really try to help. You say: in-game mods are never online? Yes, perhaps they are not currently online, but what if I told you - you don't need to be a moderator to deal with violators of the rules:
  • Someone insulted you - tell to moderator (forum/skype/whatever else) and mute the guy.
Someone is blocking - record a demo and send to moderator and kick the guy.
Someone is violating forum rules - DON'T get involved and report his message/profile.
    Have a cool suggestion to a client/servers - post on forum/github.
And stop blaming Staff for everything - it does everything it can. Your endless blaming doesn't help. It is counter-productive. If something wrong happened - talk privately to a specific moderator/administrator/tester, I am sure you will find a peaceful way to solve problems. If it does not come out well - talk to a Team leader of this specific moderator/tester. Want to help on your own and you feel you can do more - apply to a position you will be most useful in. And I want to remind you one more time, because you all tend to forgot that - members of staff are people. Just like you.
Thanks for taking your time to read it,

"I personally know people who were moderators and after awhile left their position without actually stopping to play the game - they got tired of this yelling kindergarten"

Maybe the leadership should talk to Moderators to avoid this. (Btw this is Not a reason to leave cause they know in the beginning they need to handle this kind of ppl)

"we are people too, we got our own problems, our own obligations. And you know, once in a while, we all need to rest. You might think being a moderator is easy, I assure you it is not, with each day it becomes more and more exausting to take care of you."

I know some "ex-moderators" Who were reachable 24/7 (except sleepingtime for sure..). Me for example.. Btw I took several days (yes, days in talking) to talk to ppl in teamspeak/skype/ingame why they r insulting/blocking/etc to solve the Problem (cause I think there is more use in solving a Problem instead of just kicking ppl) even my gf (kayumi) yelled at me why i am "wasting" my time for this.. because I take this serious....!

--- Funny thing... an "admin" just told me "good bye :*" instead of talking to me.. where is the problem.. nothing.. big mistake ---

Maybe the leadership should just ask active ex-moderators/ex-testers if they Would join again and help ddnet instead of yelling all the time "everything is dying"/"ddnet will die"/"what should we do" etc.

Start acting guys
<---- @ Admins

onionly got some positives thoughts when i last saw him ingame.. talk with him pls.
And onionly.. pls keep your thoughts going

Once again, I'm open to help DDNet with the community/whatever needs to be done.

I might be wrong, but from my perspective, there is little action being taken by the current admins, and there are people who want to help but aren't in a position to do so. I don't mean to be pushy since this stuff does require careful decisions to be made, but it's better to accept uncertain help than to sit back and watch it burn.

I was kicked 3 times from a server by moderator, just because he couldn't do a part and I said "ez part :P" (aaa)
Habibi wrote me on Skype the next day saying he got kicked at end of grandpa because he was blocking our friend for fun, and he got kicked by moderator directly, not vote! (don't know moderator)

After that I talked to admins and I got no answers... I chek some times if I send pm to right person and it was right.

Well stop saying we ll find a way to solve problems talking pacefull, just watch staff recruitment sections. Really admins seems like don't give a f.. About it.
