Since the thread is messed up with much bullshit and it is impossible to pick the useful posts out, we are not going to do much posts here and also tell our "supporters" to better stay out. We can just loose here, also cause real arguments are often ignored by haters.

Some people got bans, cause they are insulting all the time and ignore our rules. We don't delete posts which just contain opinions, even if they might be not the smartest ones. But if people are presenting their opinions with many insulting and not fair posts, we delete them and also give warnings to them. Some people are collecting warnings like stamps, so they get bans. And some of them even try to evade bans, so we make these bans longer.

PS: I have been asked to post this here, it was originally written in a pm.

Hey guys, im not active at the moment, but still reading the forum from time to time.
So, about the Aim series, I think it is a nice series and should keep going on since people like to play them. And I also think it is not about 50 new parts in one map but slightly different parts to challenge the people.
Another point is that you want to finish them, BECAUSE they are actually challenging, which makes me wanna play it. Same think for the other people i guess.
About the similarities to the other aim maps; isn't it the same with super mario? the level dont change much just slightly different to the level before. And people still play them and buy 10 different and counting mario game. Same with Call of duty.
So much about the Aim series.

I cannot say much about the leadership since i am not active as i already mentioned, but what I can say is that I totally disagree with some of their decisions about declining maps. For example the 'grandpa' map, 3 people commented the map very positive which indicates that they actually like them and would play them. So why dont you release them. Isnt this game about fun, just like any other game? If people want to play the map, it obviously is fun to play!

Why dont you recreate the testing system. For example create a voting for every map where the map tester cant vote to release or decline a map. In this case you would need some more tester of course.

And my last thing is about the ban.
Why do people get banned for telling their opinion, of course if they insult I can fully understand it but in this case? He is just complaining about several map declines which obviously quiet a few people, when not the most, can not understand. If you cannot take some criticism you should not be a "public" person.

These are my thoughts about all this non-sense. Just let people play what the find fun to play and not getting restricted by some stupid rule.

"Useful" posts would be actually either those that really show that Aoe (and the rest) deserve a ban) or any response from the leadership od DDNet. Where the first ones do not exist and the second are rare.

I am new to the community, do not know that much about what's going on but for this whole situation I am inclined to side with Aoe because there is no VISIBLE evidence of Aoe's misbehaviour. At least I do not see anything that should result in banning so many people.

The problem is, that by deleting these posts you delete any proof of their misbehaviour. How do you expect the community to understand what you (the leadership) did if the community cannot evaluate the situation themselves? For some of us it looks pretty much like this:
- Aoe disagrees with what the leadership is doing
- Leadership doesn't want any disputes on the forum and doesn't answer with anything meaningful
- Aoe gets pissed
- Leadership gets pissed
- Leaderhip bans a bunch of people

If Aoe did something bad enough to deserve a ban, well then fine, but as is it looks just as if he got banned because the leadership of DDNet did not like him.

In all honesty, I have no idea what the average age of this community is but I know that most (if not all) of the people concerned by this situation are adults. So for f**k sake act like adults. You can talk this through and find a way to make both sides happy. It is not that hard to get to an agreement but if both sides are reluctant to do so... well then we end up with shit like this.

Moreover, this community is small so we should really care about it. Why the heck can't we all act as friends? Ok fine, some people might not like other people, it's natural, but this doesn't have to create such retarded conflicts.

Finally, I hope this will be read by those that are concerned and maybe it will make some people think more about this situation, because when adults act like this, it's pretty pitiful to watch.

You just quoted one...

The posts are all soft deleted, so they are still there.
We just won't let insulting posts stay in the public audience, cause we want a friendly atmosphere, not a thread full of insults.

Indeed, but that answer isn't clarifying anything about the situaton, at least to me.

And this might be an issue. I read quite a few threads already and haven't seen even one reason to ban those people. Do you expect me to believe your word?

Btw, I feel like you completely ignored the part of my post mentioning talking things through with Aoe and the other people that got banned. Also it would probably be a decent idea for ALL the admins to talk about the future of DDNet and about how maps are treated currently.

Just a suggestion, you will do whatever you see fit.

You give very good examples Aoe. Im talking about TRC_gores. As a part of KoG we declined exactly this map too because it was bad. Saying hi_leute_gll is declining every map from you with bringing examples of bad declined maps is not a proper way of discussion. Unfortunaly I cant rate if your aim maps are as good as you say since i dont care about aim maps.

And there is the quote of deen and his opinion of hi_leute_gll. He did not even answer towards the question from imp and Ryozuki "What did hi_leute_gll do". But you already take this comment into you post. Taking an unconvincing opinion of a powerful person is more like propaganda than a real argument. You are just trying to surf on the bad mood wave that searches for a black sheep called hi_leute. We all know you dont like him same like many others. But putting the opinion about a person together with that what the person actually do is a bad behaviour.

I can clearly say hi_leute_gll is a good person and always try to do the best for the community.

I dont like the map GLL too, same like your aim maps

Permanent ban is overreaction, but it's his fault to insult admin. Immaturity at its finest
