They think: "I NEED MY OWN MAP ON DDNET.. NOW"

Step 1: They watch tutorials and get the basics
Step 2: They start to map some random stuff
Step 3: After they created a boring and buggy map they want it to be tested
Step 4: 10 mins after uploading the map: WHEN WILL SOMEONE TEST MY MAP
Step 5: Map instantly gets rejected and archived
Step 6: I NEED MY OWN MAP ON DDNET.. NOW
Step 7: They start to map again. And create a boring map one more time
Step 8: They upload a new map within 2 days and claim that it's a lot better
Step 9: Map gets archived
Step 10: After repeating step 6-9 several times they finally create something that doesn't suck 100%
Step 11: What the testers think: Map still bad
Step 12: What the testers say: Map is better than older ones. With some changes it can be released
Step 13: Map finally get's released
Step 14: OMG I HAVE MY OWN MAP ON DDNET LOOK HOW AWESOME I AM
Step 15: Uploads more maps to increase awesomeness
Step 16: What the testers think: Dude, stop mapping such ****. There are enough maps to be tested
Step 17: What the testers say: This map isn't as good as your 1st map was. Better try something new
Step 18: 20 hours later: Here my brand new map. It's really good!
Step 19: What the testers think: Not this guy again
Step 20: What the testers say: You need to put more love in your maps. Your latest maps are really boring and buggy.
Step 21: Map gets archived
Step 22: After repeating step 15-21 several times they finally create something that doesn't suck 100%
Step 23: What the testers think: This guy is god damn annoying omg where is my gun
Step 24: What the testers say: This map is better than older ones. We might release it.
Step 25: Map gets released
Step 26: Step 15-25 repeat infinitely

Result: 1000 maps of which ~25% are fun to play (for the first time) and "100" maps in testing section
True story..

Imo they should delet those maps but many ppl would cry about Points and stuff.

So the people that do maps that you consider that they are not good, their mappers then are 8 year old kids or have born w packing?.

People like you are the ones who are more lioe that.

Before crytizise you should try and map something that most person can consider good.

Looks like you didn' t opened editr in your life.

One thing is know what ganeplay means, other is they way you do that gameplay.

I recommend you, if you are angry because there are no good maps wich you thing are good. Go and MAP them, less talk more work.

There are different types of quality:
1. creative maps, which have creative parts and are not annoying to play.
2. good mapped maps, which have a nice style, "cool" parts, (=hyped maps; people mostly talking about these, while talking about good maps).
People don't care that much for quality maps, they play good mapped maps.

While looking on creativity, many maps are similar, often maps have not many creative ideas. in Novice it is not possible, Moderates are often the same parts, Brutal is often just harder moderate or interesting/tricky.

For me there is not a big difference between "good" maps and "bad" maps, if both are not creative, so why shouldn't we get points for finishing both of them?
(We wont release maps, which are really annoying, so this is just about not annoying maps.)

I couldn't answer, cuz i've got banned by hi_leute_gigaligalive.

Im sorry if i touched ur feeling about mapping or so.
Firstly. I dont need to being a cow to understand that the milk sour. Easy sentence.
Before crytizise you should try and map something that most person can consider good.
No. I can understand good map or not, without being a mapper.
One thing is know what ganeplay means, other is they way you do that gameplay.

Angry? No, lol, just notice bad gameplay.
My little advice:
Google -> Game design books -> read first 5 books.
If any mapper will read these books, next maps that they produce will be 20x better.

The Chess wouldn't be harder if we play it 100kg pawns, just annoying. The first law of game design - if u can remove something from map and its not change gameplay - u must do it. All this over900000 freeze tiles and same bad gamedesign choices. For instance - Noob Filter's on many maps. It doesnt effect on gameplay. So mapper should remove it, cuz law n1.
NF before map like u must play 1 match Checkers before u be able to play Chess. Just mind that.

Yes, map without any graphics except entities and good gameplay 1 million times better than Crysis 3. ;)

May i get example good map, better than Bolox's Nostalgia, and godbless SickCunt maps, like Ship crash accident 1,2,3 in this class? Please? :)
Nostalgia isnt hyped map. It has just very good gameplay. I can count on fingers maps on whole DDNET which has same class of gameplay. Doesnt matter how hard is it. Brutal 5 / 3 or same as Kobra 2. ;)

Ama, what u know about balance? Did u play ur own maps? :D
Did u read at least one book about gameplay/design?
Sorry if its sounds awful.

Nostalgia has a little unbalance, but u never stand like an idiot not in a freeze, and waiting while ur partner do a thing. DDNET has 10 maps with that class of gameplay, all others worse like 10x times. When 1 tee stand and wondering for 1-10 sec while another do things. Only 1 part of Nostalgia has this mapper "bug". And thats why Nostalgia worse than Naufrage. But other maps worse than Naufrage like 20x more than Nostalgia.
If u have on map at least in the sum of 5 sec standing for nothing - you are very bad mapper, and better if u will not produce maps. Tee must be in move all time. All time on map. That what means action game. Even 2D platformer.

For example Skychase has 10x better gameplay than all others clones. Just because wellmapped. And others 2-3 brutal dummy maps has much worse gameplay. Not harder. Just worse. Like Savanna Drag series. I bet my socks, that Sickcunt knows a lot about gameplay.

So funny seeing a guy critisizing all maps when he doesnt even did one. What happens with you and your books? stop writing bullshit. I'm pretty sure if you try to map you will change your words
