@webshark25 do you even read/understand everything?
my english is a bit bad >
0 more time
he means the current time is enough and no more extra time??
He means that he doesn't want to do anything for DDNet in the future. He wants to leave this project completely.

xush' wrote:Well. As I am pretty sure that deen won't lay DDNet to our hands I still want to make a little announcement.

If DDNet will actually go down on 10.1, we will also host a complete clone of DDNet GER for a specific period of time. All of your scores will still be there, we managed to do the cloning already.

I hope someone will be found to keep DDNet running meanwhile.
Meskalin, i don't think that people who use IP-Spoofing, serveral bots and built a remote-control in their client are the right persons for this.

Tournaments? wasn't east making them?

i rly cant understand
There is no one to keep DDNet servers running, fixing them if something goes wrong, setting up new servers, etc. east didn't want to do any more tournaments, I don't have anyone else capable of doing these things. So if I go on my Europe trip in 2 weeks and something is wrong with the servers, no one can fix it. (Something goes wrong quite often.) That's what I'm scared of and why I'd rather shut down DDNet than have huge problems for which I stay responsible.
So deen i wanna help you, if you wanna discuss about it skype-triki1.00

deen wrote:The current admins seem more interested in running their own servers, which is still their plan instead of keeping DDNet running. Sure, if someone trustworthy with time and the right capabilities comes along, DDNet could keep running. But the admins were already the best people I could find, so no idea what to do now.
Maybe they planned to do so, because they thought that you won't give them access to all of the DDNet stuff or they somehow got the wrong idea that creating everything from scratch would be easier.

I think we should inform them that me, less and gr33nt3a want to help. Gr33nt3a have said that he should be able to do most of things you mentioned (and if he's not, he'll learn it) and so do I. From all of the things you've wrote about, the only one I don't really have is MySQL/MariaDB administration experience (and, in theory, administration of Debian/CentOS - but as I'm the Arch Linux user, the first one shouldn't really be hard for me). I don't really know about less skills, as he didn't elaborate on that, but I believe he can also help in server administration.

So I think, it would be a good idea to make gr33nt3a a technical admin and ask the current administration team to continue keeping DDNet alive. ^^ Me and less should be able to help them from time to time, I guess. And please, give us some more time to organize everything, as most of us didn't really know the current situation until your announcement.

Maybe they just got that the work deen did was similar to a professional full-time job.
The problem is that you need very much knowledge to keep such a world wide system running, it is much more complex than just running a single server with a few ports. (There are people earning much money with that knowledge.^^) I don't want to offend you, but it isn't like you learn it in 2 weeks and then everything runs, deen took months to build everything up in a way that it works. east did releases and a tournament, said that it is too much.

Btw.: Everything of DDNet is public available, even the website and so. The contracts with the hosters and the servers itself are currently the only thing to which only deen has access.

Yea, i know you dont like me hi_leute_gll. But thats not a reason to spread lies. I never remote controlled anyone, excluding people from using specific clients should be in your favor.

The spoofing tool was used for educational purposes only, I can remember using it on DDNet twice.

& I don't even wanted to maintain DDNet, you should read more carefully.
