It's just you post sounds like there are just 23 racers and all participated here. In fact there are more ppl who care for the race server even if the poll is not representive.

So should we really keep releasing racemaps for 23 players or should we focus more on DDrace, where we have 400 players in this moment?

All the poll showed was that 23 players would like to have all maps released, not more, not less.

The reason why I play the maps on the race server from DDNet, is just that you are able to save & load on longer maps. On the other race servers you can't unfortunately.

I used the save feature on almost every released race map and forgot about that completely. Ye I agree, that's another huge benefit. Only because of that I was able to finish run_keksi and I'm sure many people (even nubs and anti-race players) will enjoy long 'part-by-part' maps like hard_hundred with this feature.

Anyways, we obviously can't agree with each other :o It seems to be an endless pro/contra and I hate to argue :'(
So, I would like to make one last attempt to end this .__.

I have 0 people who want to help with the race server.

It might be the case right now. But that reason should not be a big problem. Who cares if the server stays untouched for one week.

I guess I'll just let you take over organizing the Race server again, for me that's the same as shutting it down, as I don't have to do any work then.

I would love to accept this offer :3 We'll have all 100+ maps then, almost all of them will be without points (only the already released ones might keep their points). You'll receive maps with formatted text for release. And if players don't want to play race, they wont even notice that the race server is still alive and slowly filling with maps. They can just vote another server type and play ddrace without any disadvantage :p

More and more i think ddnet is going into the wrong direction like ddmax. Admins decide even though there is a poll, why is it there then?

For me it's the opposite. People tell me about things they want in DDNet and I have to work on these things for hours every day, otherwise they will complain about it, saying I don't respect them, only do what I want and never listen to others, etc.

I understand you here, you are indeed constantly working on things the community suggested. And you add many things, people would like to see.
We just found your decision in this particular situation kinda questionable ._. Unfortunately you can never make everyone happy, it's impossible. And that's sad :'(

I don't know why race haters are always refering to their arguments which were already refuted...
The race server doesn't have to be in focus, idk why people have to say "we should concentrate more on ddrace"...the race server is just a new server, just release some maps, don't make it the main thing right now.

I can just agree with Index and I hope people are tolerant with a race server which gives no or almost no points. Even though we are a bit untolerant with the haters who want the race server gone, but the arguments against it aren't really that good...

Yeah maggi, could say same vice versa. For me it looks like the pros are busted and the cons too big.
It's just a matter of personal interests how you see that, but i would prefer an rather objective solution.

The number of players on Race-servers is equal to the number of players on Solo-servers.
Solo-servers seem to be unpopular, too.
Maybe you should stop releasing maps there, too

In my opinion those who didnt vote are happy that there is a new server with many new maps (easy,med,hard).
Sometimes everyone want to play another mod, because you became bored of DDRace (e.g. iCTF, Solo).
The Race server could be another alternative for many players.
You cant expect that there are +50 players on a Race-server.
On Solo-servers you wont find them, too.

Like i already said, for me their abstain from voting means, that they don't care because they're glad about new servers.
The players who complain about the servers could be advised to the forum.
You cant tell me that noone told them about the poll.

Edit: @onion: ~720min on race-servers, but u finished pink.lila 3 times so i would say ur first 2 tries took ~30min -> 750min + i know you spent 2-3 hours on run_button)

All in all you spent about 14 hours on raceservers.
Doesnt sound much, but they started ~2weeks ago.
Compared to other players you spent a lot of time there.

The best solution would be to shut down race server and put the best race maps to solo. Since there aren't many rocket solo maps I would like that solution since grenade is my fav weapon

When grenade is your favourite weapon it's the worst decision ever to delete the race server, wtf :o
Just enjoy a great variety of different rocket solo maps (you can call almost all race maps like that) on an extra server, the race server.

I might be missing something, but where is the huge disadvantage of an existing race server without points.
Once again, you can just ignore the server if you want to and completely focus on ddrace.
Only people (including returned race-pros) who like to play the modification can play all their favourite race maps. And not just a selection added somewhere.
'Cause btw, I'm sure that there will be huge discussions why map_x were added and map_y not as well if we just release a few selected ones and then stop..
