Hi there, I'm a cube.
Hi ! I'm Thomas a.k.a. =CuBe=.
Since nobody knows me on teeworlds, I decided to introduce myself.
I started playing back in 2009, with my buddy =Typhoon=. The first mod we actively played was HpRace. That was a great time we had, playing all HpRace maps and waiting for maps to change ( every half hour we played a different map, because we didn't know how to change maps with votes back then). We got pretty good at it and really a lot of 1st ranks on HpRace.
Then we started playing DDRace, and also started mapping our first maps, like the old eagle races you might know. They are bad now but hey, times are different After a while, I also mapped my first hardcore, which people liked back then. You might not actually believe it but that map was really hard for most of us. The skillgap has changed so much over time, we used to all be noobies in ddrace. We couldn't even hammerfly properly to right or left. We could only go up. That's also why hardcore2 map was cheatable, because we simply thought it wasn't possible. Once I realised that we could possibly hammerfly right or left, I knew we could cheat hardcore2 and fly around the map. So I practiced with Boo for like 2 or 3 hours and then finally we did it and cheated the map. So basicly I invented my own cheat on hardcore2.
Since there weren't many mappers back then, hardcore became a bit of a crowd favorite, especially hardcore2. Somehow the server was always crowded with that map. ( Back then 16 tees = full server ) I remember you always had to wait for like 5 minutes before you could finally connect and get into the server. Since the first two were popular I decided to just continue the series. DDRace has changed a lot over time, I like all the work DDNet has put in it, but also regret the fact things will never be the same again. I have such great nostalgia thinking of the old days, but everything comes to an end!
Over time I met some pretty awesome people in teeworlds. It's a very social game, and that's what I love about ddrace too. It's just very social and a pleasant experience. You can just relax and write with eachother, while playing a cool map. Today DDNet has made ddrace an even greater success. The whole project is great and the servers ( along with their maintenance ) are great too. I wish to thank all that worked on it over the years and to those who helped made this project possible. Big thanks specificly to deen for all his work and management of DDNet. I hope that things will progress further, and I wish you all a lot of fun playing teeworlds.
Greetings,
Cubie

Hi CuBe. I agree with Amol.
My favorite oldschool map is hardcore 3. I remember it was something extremely interesting when I saw it for the first time. Other maps are nice too. Cheers!

Hi leader!
Thanks for shape ddrace !
Your first hardcore maps were the basis of starting mapping for me and enough others!
Also it's pretty amazing how long eagle is alive now, and i think you put pretty much work in it over the last years. I am happy to be a part of this clan.
Keep going!
