Today, iMTG presents a new Gores map by Kero. It's the 8th part of his well-known series. This short, but fun gores map contains parts using hookthrough and hook-tele. These features are freshing up the map type of gores, while still providing the Gores experience. All in all, this map is well playable for bigger groups of casual players, but also speedrunnable by pros.

I talked with jao about releasing Gores maps in general, since the latest releases weren't really popular. We came to the conclusion that we should give this map here a try, because in opposite to the other gores maps on DDNet, this map here is much easier and thus also playable for lower skilled players.

Some of you may noticed that this map has been posted on KoG forums already. After some time and discussions, Kero and I came to the conclusion that this map will fit better to DDNet. Thus we post it here now.

According to the new rules for maps tested by testing groups, this thread will be opened for roughly a week. If there aren't any bigger complaints, it will be released automatically then. Anyway, this doesn't mean that you aren't allowed to test it. So feel free to post any bugs, possible improvements and opinions about this map.

I had a quick look, and the only features I see are hook teleports (all are skippable with a simple hammerfly/hammerhit), stoppers (only to prevent cheating) and some hookthrough, the rest of the map is just normal gores. This map has less actual "gameplay" than Deergrove, therefore I do not see how it's meant to fit DDNet any better. Design is passable, but nothing extraordinary, color choices are in my opinion a bit bizarre. The singular unhookable blocks scattered across the map can mess you up if you try to hook one, as a stylistic choice they are bad as well. All in all, if you decide to skip the hook teleports it's just a very short, easy gores map.

The main fact is that it's playable for mostly everyone, so it is a lot more appealing. Ddnet is in heavy need of simpler gores maps.

DDNet is in need of good DDRace maps, not gores maps :lol:

DDNet needs gores maps to finally add DDGores as a replacement for KoG

Well i love Keros maps, as do many. Since i have no way of ever playing the kog servers without huge delay, more gores maps are welcome.

I don't think that DDNet needs in maps like this, but something like Springlobe, Intermediate and etc are welcome, becouse its funny to play in group
No short ez maps on DDNet pls
Im not against a release, ofc im not. If ppl want, why not

If someone want to play some gores, he/she goes on KoG.
