Oh, maybe some insults will move some asses but i see noone, and with this leader testing team, that will just elongate the release time. There are not reason to be mad, but to be bored yes. Indeed, waiting some months to release a "perfect" map is boring and these circumstances will do to when new mappers will look at forum for post their maps, they will see to they will wait some months for a really good one and certainly more for their map (if the map isn't already declined), so that will discouraged them, with that, ddnet community will keep their old mapper and it's boring to don't have evolutions. So, yeah, let's talk on topic, the majority of people who commented said its a good/fun/creative map, what more ? Testers did some praises of the map or some little suggestions but after they talked to that, it's time to have some explanations why this map isn't release yet or release really soon.

Simple, he's not hi_leute, so he needs to wait months for his majesty to make few clicks. Testers aren't a thing anymore, it's not even worth to write opinions, cuz anyway in the end there is just this one guy who decides what is right and what's not.

I don't want to be rude either, but your maps aren't even near perfection as well, yet they are released and people are playing them. None map is perfect and it should stay this way.
Also since when people are forced to play maps they don't like. If you don't like the map you don't play it, simple as that.

You are forgetting there is a handful of players who need all the precious points they can get, and god forbid they cry a new map is 'gay'.

For me it sounded like jao wanted to decline this map, sorry i am not capable of that. jao didn't really respond to what i said in my last message, so why would he want to release the map, if he does not care for my arguments? So i came to my conclusion.
In addition jao is not able to argue about his changes, he didn't even argue about a good reason to force me to change anything.

So do you agree, that the map didn't need a test for 3 months and is still not released, since testers are lazy and/or elitists? So do you agree, that this message can be "ready for release", since it is good? That is all i want. I never wanted more and this was clear for the whole time. There is nothing to argue about, since the map is good (i asked many players about that).

If you don't agree with me, you agree with jao, and we both know, that jao is wrong here. Sorry, but i get mad, when people think, that they are the god of map testing.

It's funny how you are overrating your map. People might just tell you that it is good, because they don't want to hurt you.
Also most of the people who posted that they like the map are people who are usually not active in this forum, but suddenly appeared. That's kinda suspicious. Not saying that this map is total crap, but it is really not what you think it is.

jao told me that the decision group accepted the map with the requirement of it being fixed. Maybe he should write this more clearly.

I never said I want to decline the map. That I have some sort of "elitism" was sarcasm. (Just take a look at recent releases and you'll see that most of those are far from being elite maps)

To my suggestions:
  • Making tele 2 part easier/removing the last part seems reasonable to me since it's an entry part. The part is kinda long and the last shot is the hardest. People could tend to be frustrated by that, hence stop playing. Adjusting the difficulty and allowing people to progress a bit easier will result in more people playing the map, which should be in your interest as well.
  • Changing the start of tele 6, so that you don't run into tele, is reasonable since it's basicly bad mapping. I think this is mandatory to change, since we want to maintain some sort of standard. Maybe gameplay standards go down, but maps should still be mapped well. I would compare this to mapping a spot super tight - mappers should fix something like that too.
    I might remotely get your point about annoying stuff being liked, but then that refers to the parts itself. I don't see a reason to keep something, that's not even part of the gameplay, annoying. It's a small easy change, which I doubt anyone would cry over (lol)
  • The start of tele 7 change was my subjective opinion, so no need to change. Still wanted to point it out.
  • Reasons for making tele 5 part a bit easier should be obvious. It's totaly different to the rest of the map + it's kinda hard anyways. So people will perceive it as unbalanced/annoying.
I don't know what's bad about suggesting small changes. I'm doing these to help you improve the map, and I don't think they're that minor that they wouldn't matter at all. (And it's not hard to change small stuff :thinking:)

To those saying I'm doing some kind of ego trip here: We discussed everything internally. It was a group decision with multiple people giving their input to it. I just happen to announce the results.

I understand having to wait multiple months for a release is frustrating. Sadly we don't have a lot testers anymore and the remaining ones aren't available 24/7 either.. I try to choose the maps to test in a fair way. Soon there will be some changes which aim to improve everything.

If you run into tele at tp 6, you learn, not do run into tp at tele 6. You have to learn, that you have to jump. Anyways, in a speedrun you would kill, so it isn't even annoying there. What is the problem with a part starting with a jump? A part has to start with pressing a/d, because? I just don't understand you.

I still don't want to change anything.

I'm not talking about people that arive there and run straight into tele for no reason. What I mean is that if you do the part and fail, you keep pressing a and then run into tele automatically -> annoying

So now that I gave detailed reasons as to why I would change stuff, maybe you could explain why you want to keep it how it is :thinking:

I gave it a try. Didn't find anything 'annoying' or 'too hard'. Each part is doable after few minutes which is far from being annoying.
Nice map, should be released instantly tbh.
