why, SpaceIsKey was a worse map... i feel sad that i have to fight just to say my maps are as good as any other. I'm sorry but I just feel it's biased to a certain map author or map style.
I don't go around saying "delete the map" to every map i don't like or that annoys me. It might be half the maps on ddnet. there is room for variety or new authors, without being prejudice against certain styles or certain authors.
I realize tw is a small community and pro-driven game, where established pros can just say their map is good and pass is it one day. And of course it's all about ddnet preserving its "reputation" that it doesn't let "trashy" maps in...
But realize that if there is players who truly enjoy or think a certain map is fun, why do you have to insult them or deny them the fun that won't hurt anyone else?
"map something new something fresh maybe start with something novice"
And yet not a single part was stolen or mindlessly replicated from other maps or splattered down in a few seconds. Sure it's no masterpiece but damn, why hate on just a simple average map.
Deen didn't even want a solo server, yet many people have enjoyed it. Please think about how "it makes no sense" to criticize a different taste than yours and deny other people some enjoyment of seeing their map played or playing it with their friends.
DDnet is not competing to be the best 5 star TW servers in the world, it's a place for some people to hang out once in awhile and have fun. At least that's the way it should be.
Now I'm reminded I had to "force" my maps to be accepted (all but one) and how they don't deserve a place, when the literally hundreds of pros and noobs all said something positive (all lying according to some, which is quite remarkable). Either way, it's a sad thing when for no good reason people just want to ruin other people's fun, and isn't that why ddnet broke off from ddmax to begin with.
My maps haven't ruined ddnet's reputation and they never will, so why make me feel terrible for the simple of joy of being able to play them, or at the very least feeling like they are truly treated equal with others'.
