I dont think so, therefore many people would have already complained about the new hookhtrough - Also there's no need to stay on the old version, its not like it cost something/or a feature get lost - just get the newest version like it is recommended in any other game. Only using the old version of the hookthrough is like microsoft saying "we wont produce any XboxOne games since a few people stuck on the Xbox360, so if its possible only make a XboxOne game if its really necessary". So i dont really see the point in this.
Yeah, the easy world from Windowsusers.
Players who use Linux distributions may cant use the 10+ client because SDL2 sucks on some distributions. There are extreme lags so u cant play with this. So its just not fair.

You don't need a new client version to see the new hookthrough, you can just change the entitie image in order to see new tiles

That's not correct, DDNet 9 can't display unknown IDs, which is the reason why e.g. fng entities can't be used with it. DDNet 10 displays all IDs, thus also unwanted tiles like the hookable in font-layer, but also entities for fng and other mods.

Anyway...prediction will suck for DDNet 9 even with new images.
