I was wondering about how to make 3D tilesets, I'm sure it's been done done before, but I've not played any that I can recall
So I made one, and ofc then I had to make a short map to demo it, so here is Jekylls Lab

Fixed and updated thanks

Probably tedious; turns out I don't feel I have the talent to make fun parts

I guess it is rather beeing unexperienced than not talented.
There are really a few nice ideas in it also connected well to the really awesome design. But you also made common mistakes beginners often do, like too tight parts, weird tele and so on.

If you have fun mapping just keep it doing, you will improve automatically as long as you don't try to rush it. :)

About your update: Generally, it's better if you post next version in new post. Mainly because we don't get any kind of notification about edited posts - unless you write new post with info that you edited attachment - yet then it also seems to have more sense to just add fresh attachment to latest post instead of writing new and editing old one. And it's also easier to follow changes then.
Also, in case like now when something fails - we have no map file to download, so if with bit of unluck something would happen to your PC, well, we could have lost this map... (sadly, sometimes awkward coincidences happens)

Yeah, compounded the problem by deleting the old before adding the new
  • fixed game tile align in places
added a cp in the final part
    adjusted some hookthorugh
marked a bunch of layers as detail

Maybe it's just me, but don't you think that freeze should also be 3D?

I had a go at making 3d freeze and deep 'fields', but i couldnt come up with anything that read well with a clearly defined and obvious boundary. Can't really sacrifice readability when it comes to knowing how close you can get
