It simply should work now. You are sure you run all commands using the same terminal in the right directory? If you are in the ddnet directory all has to work

./DDNet should work then. Copy the excact command and run it.

Better use tab to autocomplete. So just type ./DD and tab

For example if your client is located in Downloads/DDNet-Client just use cd Downloads/DDNet-Client . Now you can run the client as written above. Or you you can use right click in your fi...

open a terminal in the same directory your client is located and run the client using ./DDNet. Post the output here.

Not knowing anything I guess libsdl is missing. Install it using sudo apt-get install libsdl-dev
If that does not help run sudo apt-get build-dep teeworlds
