The history of the most epic name in Tw!

Hi,

im hi_leute_gll (most epic name in tw) and im in the "clan" The Epic's (most epic clan in tw).
The clan is just a joke of 3 players: hannibal, SnaKer$ and me.

Some people who can't speak german said to me that they like my name. Now i explain you why they shouldn't:
"leute" is a german word. It means "people". So my name is just saying: hi people!
The "gll" means "gigaligalive" or "Giga Liga Live". It was a gaming league of the tv channel GIGA TV. (It doesn't exist anymore since 2009.)

The GLL and it's cool moderators Gregor and Maxi are the reason why i started playing Teeworlds in 2008. I was 12 years old. (reason for my epic name).
I think it was version 0.3 i played. After a few weeks 0.4 came out.

Most time i played DM on the GLL-Server and the GLL-map. (Maybe we could add this epic map to vanilla server.) We were all noobs and had fun.

After some time the first Race-maps came out. We played it on CTF-server. You got one flag and had to bring it to the base. I was to lazy to train it. The most time i played short games for half an hour or something like this. So i didn't invest the needed time to be good in this Race-maps. That's why i had no fun there. Today most of this maps would be Solo 1 Star maps and we would laugh about it.
From time to time i tried out many mods. Then the first DDRace mods came out. I had the same problem as in Race-maps. I didn't invest needed time, so i noobed around.
We had funny things like /r : If you fellt in freeze you have written /r and be ported back to last unfreezed position.
Old /pause : Your tee stopped in this position you are. There was a map made specially for this cmd.
And we have weird maps. I would really love to play this maps again. We would say today that they are really bad. But in this time they were cool.^^

For us noobs this cmds were perfect, cause we are able to finish maps. Pros hated them.^^

Later iDDRace came out where you could call a dummy with /d. Was cool cause the maps were easy and you could play alone. Perfect for noobs!

Over the time of Ddrace i played many maps. Cool maps like Atticus, Eagle Race, Skynet.
There were hard maps like Hardcore. (Today it's easy. )
And many creepy and weird maps (I can't remember the names.).

I played a lot ictf, too and im still playing openfng.

After playing on DDMax (most time on easy) for a very long time, i went to DDNet in spring this year.
Here i found a good organisation and server structure. I know wich maps i can play. So i could improve myself by playing basic parts learning that skills and use them on harder maps.

I had the luck to met a really nice person: hannibal. Was the first time in Teeworlds i get a social binding to the game. We played together and had lots of fun. With him i played my first tournament. It was the Birthday Tournament on Planet Venus. It was one of the best hours i ever had in Teeworlds.

hannibal started mapping. I helped him with his map "The Shire" (gameplay tests, tipps, etc.).
Later i started mapping too and i made section of map "Rivendell" by hanni.
Deen has written in the Forum that he needs a map for tournament (Was first tournament after a long break cause Ddosing.). I made a joke to hanni that Rivendell could be one. At the next day he says to me that Rivendell will be the next tournament map. I was flashed.

In this time i met ohter cool persons, too.
With levi and Moiman i did a lots of speedruns. It took as much time, but it gave us much fun, too. Levi was in Top 10 of Global Ranks. I am actually in Top 20. Moiman closely behind me.

Of course there was moments we was angry about the other one and had hard discussions about how to do parts. As well we had lots of funny moments cause failing around. And the feeling if you finished the map and see that the run was successfully is great.

I learned a lot while playing with them. And i think i can say that im much better now. I became a solid moderate player.

I wanted to give this cool community something back.
So i ask deen if i can help testing and im actually mapping a new solo map. I made automapper-rules for gras_main_0.7 and gave several suggestions to improve DDNet.

I met a few new nice persons. They work very hard to improve DDNet and i want to say thanks to them.
Thanks to: deen, Lady Saavik, Welf, Ama, DoNe, laxa and many many more. (I cant list all persons. They are to much.)

While playing on DDNet i met cool persons, too:
Daer, <BµMm>, obvious tee, Kuchengott, Kamillentee, eustass kid, bano and many more.
I really can't list all people. Sry for that.

I also met – and that is really cool – people who are playing since many years too and also started playing tw cause of the GLL. For example: teini. ( For ever ever? )


Tomorrow i have to go study again. So the time of the last 2-3 months playing Teeworlds very much is going over. That doesn't mean that i stop playing, but i can't invest the same time. Cause lots of people has the same or similar problem in the last few weeks i think it's a good point to say:

Aw hi_leute, this part really made me smile.

Gotta say though; how we met was not just luck :p A few months ago, I checked out the monthly rankings on novice servers and saw your name and you had made like 100 points in 1 month, so I was all like "damn pro he can help me", so I decided to approach you as soon as I would see you online next time.

It's ok if you don't have that much time in the next months, I'll be able to catch up! And when you get back, we're at the same skill level and rock Brutal maps.
